The early you shift your weight, the easy your trasition will be into the stride. The stride is the second most important element of the pitching mechanics. Stride speed and length are both vitally important to velocity. The only way to increase both aspects is through an effective back leg drive. In order to achieve proper back leg drive, you must avoid over collapsing the drive knee past the drive foot. The “drop and drive” isn’t inherently flawed, but you must collapse too drastically. You should be pushing towards, not dropping your weight over the rubber.
But with everything that computers can do, baseball purists argue that technology takes from the human aspect of the game. While others say that it only enhances statistical data and adds accuracy and efficiency in performance monitoring. Which ever way you lean technological advances in baseball are an asset that allows teams to organize their information without any the real threat of replacing managers, coaches, scouts, or players by computers.
